I've been listening to Daath's 'The Hinderers' and Kalmah's 'The Black Waltz' a lot in the car lately. Other than that, I throw everything in the MP3 player on shuffle. It's when murder is justice that martyrs are made.

I really enjoyed Daath at OzzFest....looking forward to seeing them in a small club, hopefully sometime soon. Overall, I thought this year's OzzFest was pretty lackluster with a few exceptions. I still had fun, though. If you like Finnish metal like Children of Bodom, Norther, Finntroll, etc. you'd probably like Kalmah. Fast and melodic. Check out their myspace page. I've been listening to Obituary's "Executioners Return" I picked up the limited edition a month or two ago and Madball's "Infiltrate the System" depending on my mood.

For metal, I've been listening to... * a Finnish band called Blind Stare...dumb name, but if you like CoB and Kalmah, you'll like these guys...you'll probably have to pick up their CD, Symphony of Delusions, online since I don't think it was released outside of Europe or Finland. * a Chilean doom/death band called Mar De Grises...the album, The Tatterdemalion Express, is great...it has long, epic songs that remind me of what you might get if you combined a little of Opeth with The Ocean (note, I'm only familiar with Precambrian, so take that comment for what it's worth).....this is another you would likely have to get online, as it's also an import * Ill Nino's Enigma....I know a lot of people will object to me calling them metal...I can understand that...but whatever...and this album is a lot better than I expected. * System of a Down...I unexpectedly scored a free Sugar EP a few weeks ago! \m/ For non-metal... * The Black Crowes - Warpaint....if you like bluesy slide guitar, check this out....the Crowes' bluesiest record to date...I love it * Jack Johnson - Sleep Through the Static....i know this is very unmetal, but sometimes I just want to relax and this is great music to chill to * Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand...another good, very unmetal CD to relax to * Ray Barretto - Acid....a Latin jazz classic from 1968....contains original version of A Deeper Shade of Soul, made famous in the late 80s/early 90s by Urban Dance Squad It's when murder is justice that martyrs are made.
