Why do bass players let themselves get pushed around so much? Every song I listen to the bass guitar is mixed so low that you can't even pick it out if you tried. The bass is supposed to lay a solid foundation for the track, so grow some balls and make some noise bass players! "...Our fear of death is what kills us."

I always make fun of him.
...then he asks if I can play bass.

I love the bass. I feel that the drums and the bass make the song good or bad. If any one of them is fucked up, then the song sucks, A guitar is more like a vocalist, you change a lot of it and it will still sound good.

I agree that bass is rarely heard on songs, when I play guitar hero with someone and I choose to play bass its more of a challange because of how hard it is to even hear the instrument.

As an aside, the bass player from the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza is an amazing musician and has more talent than many lead guitarists that I have seen. "...Our fear of death is what kills us."
