It seems like with every movie Zombie makes, the quality of the story and direction gets better and better.
House of 1000 Corpses was scary as hell, but when it gets down to it, it's just another low-budget slasher. (Big props to Sid Haig and Bill Moseley.)
The Devil's Rejects was a huge step up for Zombie in every filmmaking aspect. The writing (Zombie wrote the screenplay) was phenomenal, the characters were likeable, even though they were evil and sadistic. From a shocking beginning to an unforgettable end, The Devil's Rejects was a great achievment in cinema, thanks to Rob Zombie.
Halloween is the next project up for Zombie. He writes and directs the 're-imagining' of the story first told almost 30 years ago. I can't wait for this one.
Anyone else interested in seeing this one?
Anyone have opinions on Rob's other films?

house of 1000 corpses, was really good, but nothing great. it had a lot of potential and great performances, but in my opinion, the way the movie was cut was a little to jarring. too much like a music video.
the devils rejects however was freaking awesome. That is one of my all time favorite movies. From the story, to the music, to the intensity of it. Just awesome. I just wish they didn't use CGI gore. I hate that!

Agreed. All the best gore in horror movies was done in cosmetics, props, etc.

Agree completely, I can not WAIT for Halloween...For an FYI he actually just reshot the ending to add 3 more death scenes...I guess peoples only issue with the film was the end.

I guess everyone is in agreeance when we say that Zombie is currently the best in the horror business.
Eli Roth is another great, but he relies on gore a little too much when it comes to his films.
James Wan is another great. Saw wasn't really scary, but it definitely made you cringe. Dead Silence, his current film, didn't get the recognition it deserved, it was definitely worthy of a view. Very creepy.

Yea I heard from my friend Brendan that the puppet lady in Dead Silence was the scariest looking horror character he has ever seen. I personally haven't seen the movie yet.

What project what you like to see Rob Zombie remake (if he had the opportunity)
-A Nightmare on Elm Street -The Evil Dead -Friday the 13th -Hellraiser -The Puppet Masters -The Blob -Gremlins
Add one or pick one and elaborate.
I think Zombie could make Gremlins into a bad motherfucking movie.
Just think of his style and tone put into what was once regarded as a family movie?
Gizmo would go ape-shit on Stripe's ass left and right.

I thought his films were well made and had killer soundtracks as well. House of a 1,000 Corpses was a bit weird and made a bit too dark for certain scenes, that you wouldn't make out what was going on. But the gore and blood used throughout was amazing. As for The Devil's Rejects I thought that was better off in all angles. The music was more rounded off and scenes better looking and more bloodier.
