What is up with biker rock bands lately being the only success? What happened to the "my dad raped me" Korn and the solid Limp Bizkit era (haha, I said solid and Limp Bizkit in the same sentence) Anyone still listen to radio metal these days?

The only thing that I ever hear on the radio is 90's rock/alternative and the new wave of Korn/Linkin Park/Whatever Pop-rock fusion bullshit. It's depressing really.

What you guys not had the whole emo epidemic accross the pond? With the complete commercial sell out that happened which marked the end of Nu-metal (Korn, Link Park): I'm completely unsurprised that nothings really happening in the scene.
Still at least HED (P.E.) are still churning out the albums which gives me something to listen to, and the occasional Dope album.
Anyways @ Don - what you classing as Biker rock?

First off, welcome to the forums Mek, I think I have talked to you before somewhere else....hmmm :) That aside (hed) p.e.'s latest effort is a good one, almost as good as their hay day of Broke and the s/t. Dope, personally didn't know they were still releasing albums. Haha, I have so much cheesy stuff from them (like a special edition condom EP sleeve and crap like that). Biker rock are bands to me like The Showdown, Black Cherry whatever, Nickelback, stuff that is trying to be Led Zep in modern day.

Thanks for the welcome.
Now for me HED's 'Insomnia' wasn't as good as 'Back to Base X' which had some really good ideas, and the album gelled alot more. I'd actually go as far as to say 'X' is probably the best album to date.
Back to Dope, unfortunately they lost their way with the whole heavy 80's cheese thing. Their original album is by far one of my favourite album's of all time, an excellent example of industrial metal.
And industrial is my fave :-)

Ya industrial can be fun, do you like bands more like Dope or other stuff like KMFDM as well?

Uhm I like a big fat wide mix of different shit tbh. The trouble I have with industrial is the lack of imagination in the vocals so stuff but then some really good beats will get me passed that. I do like KMFDM ilk but not KMFDM themselves; so Cubanate, Front Line Assembly, Front 242 (ok these class themselves as EBM). However the only person who seems to really pushing the industrial scene at the moment is Celldweller.
But anyway we are digressing seriously off topic :-) Industrial section i say.

Yes nearly every crappy song that I hear on the radio sounds like it is by Nickelback because just about every new rock band sounds exactly like Nickelback...

Their guitar and drum beats aren't that beat and neither are the vocals. I think the whole act is pretty good.
